Firstly - If anyone in your party or anyone else involved in the incident is injured CALL 911 immediately.  All wireless phones, even those that are not subscribed to or supported by a specific carrier, can call 911.

For minor bumps and scrapes with no injuries you can call Florida Highway Patrol on 844 347 4747 and get an incident report number on the spot.  As long as all party's can exchange insurance information and driving license information (and all are willing) then there is no need to have an Officer present BUT you MUST have an incident number before leaving the scene.

If you can:

• Take pictures of the scene and the surrounding area.
• Take pictures of the damage (if any) to ALL vehicles and property.
• Make a note of the location - use your phones built in map to drop a pin.
• Make a note of the weather conditions, road conditions, any signage close by etc.
• Take pictures of any documents presented by those involved (licenses, insurance cards etc).
• Get details of any witnesses willing to be contacted.

Once it is safe to do so - CALL US!  We will discuss next steps and the quickest way to get you back on the road.

To help organise your thoughts, and capture details of the incident, complete the following accident report form as soon as you can.

However unlikely it can happen.  If you do find yourself in this situation firstly check if there are any gas stations close by (walking distance).  If there are stations further afield consider calling an Uber.  If you don't have the means to look this information up you need to call us.  Note: there will be a call out fee for re-fueling.

Most modern cars won't allow the key to be locked inside the vehicle so if you think you have misplaced the key make sure you have looked in all the obvious places.  Retrace your steps and get your group to help.  If all else fails call us and we will arrange for a replacement / locksmith to come out.  Please note there is a fee for lost/damaged keys (see terms & conditions).

If the person is struggling to breath, is falling in and out of consciousness, bleeding or is in severe discomfort - DON'T HESITATE CALL 911. 

If you think the person is fit to travel and you/they would prefer to attend a clinic or walk in ER then call your healthcare insurance provider first.  They can usually locate the nearest in-network clinic for you and call ahead so the staff are expecting you (this can help alleviate some of the paperwork)

1. Inform authorities and get an incident number
2. Try to detail as much as possible what has been taken
3. If the vehicle has been damaged during the theft - call us
4. Notify your insurer (if you have separate personal belongings insurance - some credit card companies offer such to travelers) - follow their direction.

The US medical & dental system can seem quite intimidating but in order to be seen quickly it pays to ensure you attend a clinic covered by your healthcare providers network.  You should have a contact number for your healthcare insurance provider - call them and they can usually locate the nearest in-network practice for you.  If you don't carry insurance just call the nearest practice and explain you will be paying out of pocket.
