BOOKING
Upon receipt of your written confirmation, via email, that you wish to proceed with a reservation, we will send you a secure payment link for a non-refundable deposit. This may be paid via a credit / debit card. Deposits are taken in advance to ensure drivers and vehicles are allocated for a client. Deposits cover, but are not limited to, the administrative time to complete driver schedules, generate contracts, process payments and complete all necessary communications. Deposits are non-refundable. Deposits are non-transferable. Deposit amounts will be deducted from the total quoted and the balance will be payable separately on arrival (or before if preferred). If a deposit was requested at time of booking you will be asked to verify you have understood these terms and conditions. If a deposit was requested at time of booking – that booking will NOT come into force until the deposit requested has cleared in the account of Car On The Drive. Once cleared you will receive a formal confirmation that your booking has been made. Please use your confirmation number in any future correspondence.
CANCELLATION
You may cancel your reservation at any time with a full refund of any monies paid (minus deposit) up to 28 days prior to your arrival. A cancelation fee will be deducted from this refund to cover administrative costs. Details of these charge scan be found in the Rental Information but is typically $100 or 3% whichever is larger. If you cancel within 28 days of your arrival no refund or credit will be given. Car On The Drive are in no way held responsible for any disruption, delay or cancellation of your vacation or flight, due to any circumstances beyond your control.
VEHICLE CHOICE
We always endeavor to allocate the group vehicle of your. However, in the highly unlikely event, due to circumstances beyond our control, that we find it necessary to substitute your vehicle, you may be offered a higher group than requested, you will be informed at the earliest opportunity. Should you wish to decline, a full refund will be given.
MECHANICAL FAULTS / ACCIDENTS
In the event of any mechanical difficulties or accidents involving your car, it is important that details are reported to Car On The Drive within immediately. In the event of an accident you must also complete an accident report form by the end of the rental period. Local Sheriffs / Police should also be notified in the case of accidents and a signed Sheriff / Police report obtained and sent to Car On The Drive Full details of third parties should also be obtained. In the event of an accident Car On The Drive will not be held responsible for anyone driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, causing willful damage and off road driving or driving without due care and attention. The customer will accept responsibility in respect of such claims.
DRIVING LICENSES
An acceptable valid driver’s license issued from your country or state of residence must be presented at time of car hire. The driver’s license must be valid for the entire car hire period. If the driver’s license is in a language other than English, an international driver’s permit must be provided along with the driver’s license.
AGE RESTRICTIONS AND NAMED DRIVERS
Car On The Drive will accept drivers age 21 and above on all group sizes 1 through 4, Driver must be age 25 and above for all groups 5 and above, all drivers must have held a full driving license for a minimum of 1 year. The driver’s license must be valid for the entire car hire period. There are NO extra charges for age 21 through 25. There are NO extra charges for up to 2 drivers per contract
MEET AND GREET COLLECTION AND RETURN SERVICE
Your flight will be met and cars delivered and collected inside of normal working hours, (7 am through 12 am). However, there may be an additional charge for our service outside these hours, example, if your flight is delayed to the point where it arrives after midnight you will be charged a $20 per hour excess or part thereof. An early morning flight may affect your rental rate please ensure we have the full early return details. You must provide the correct flight information, we cannot be held responsible if your flight number or time has been changed in any way and you have not informed us. Our service is only as good as the information you provide
DURATION OF VEHICLE HIRE
The duration of your hire period begins when you are given the keys on arrival at your vacation address, and ends when we collect you for your return journey to the airport or you return the vehicle to our office. We do not partake in any extra hourly charges as long as your return flight has not been cancelled. If this happens we will try to allocate you with the same vehicle or similar for a pro rata nightly fee.
CHILD / BOOSTER SEATS
Car On The Drive will supply both child restraint seats and height enhancing booster seats for a nominal charge. Car On The Drive is not responsible for the fitting of the child restraining seat during airport transfers and bears no responsibility for the fitting in the rental vehicle. This is an extract from the state Florida law on Child seats: Children through the age of 3 must be secured in a federally approved child-restraint seat. Children ages 4 through 5 must be secured by either a federally approved child-restraint seat or a safety belt. Child seats should be returned in the condition they were rented and we reserve the right to charge a cleaning fee / replacement fee if the seat is dirty or damaged beyond safe subsequent use. the maximum fee will not exceed the total amount ot replace the seat with like for like.
OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT
Upon request and subject to availability, we offer certain Optional Equipment, including but not limited to, Child Seats and Global Positioning Devices, for your use during the rental at an additional charge. All Optional Equipment is rented AS IS and must be returned to us at the end of the rental in the same condition as when rented. Optional Equipment is not part of the car. You are responsible for any loss or damage to any Optional Equipment regardless of the cause, even if you have accepted LDW or PDW. You should review the operational instructions for all Optional Equipment before leaving the rental location. If you rent a Child Seat from us, you have the sole responsibility to inspect and properly install the seat yourself. We make no warranties, express, implied or apparent, regarding the Child Seat or any other Optional Equipment, no warranty of merchantability, and no warranty that the Child Seat or any other Optional Equipment is fit for a particular purpose. You are responsible for all injury or damage arising out of, or related to your use of the Child Seat, or any other Optional Equipment. If you choose to rent a Global Positioning Device (“GPS”) from us, you are responsible for returning it in the same condition as when rented with all accessories provided, including the carrying case, the car charger, the windshield mount, and, where provided, the console beanbag mount (“GPS Accessories”). If the GPS or GPS Accessories are lost or damaged so as to, in our sole opinion, require repair or replacement, you will pay us the fair market value for its repair or replacement.
TOLLS
You agree that if you do not purchase one of our toll products that you will use “Cash” lanes only on toll roads during your rental. Failure to pay the toll at a Cash lane or driving the Vehicle through an automated express lane / toll station will result in additional fees. Toll stations use license plate recognition to “bill by plate” and charges for “bill by plate” are significantly higher then when using one of our transponders. If you use an automated express/toll lane without using your own transponder or purchasing one of our toll products you will pay us our administrative fee of $15 per usage day, up to a maximum of $180 per rental agreement, plus the applicable toll fee for each time you use an automated express/toll lane during your rental. This fee will be charged at the end of your agreement and payment MUST be in cash.
INSURANCE
All of our vehicles are fully insured and supply the following cover:
Full Liability Insurance Protection for claims made against you. Provides you and other authorized drivers with liability protection for claims made against you by others for bodily injury or death plus property damage from the use or operation of the hire vehicle. Full Liability provides a substantially higher level than the state minimum limits, up to $1,000,000, of “combined single limits.” Loss Damage Waiver, Collision Damage Waiver, Theft Waiver (LDW) (CDW) (TW). Covers the rental vehicle in the event of accidental damage and theft. Theft Waiver provides coverage for the theft or damage resulting from attempted theft of the vehicle. C.D.W. coverage eliminates your financial responsibility for loss of or damage to the vehicle, and eliminates your out of pocket deductible.
Collision Damage Waiver covers most circumstances where damage has been caused to the vehicle during the period of hire. However it is subject to certain exclusions which include: Where any rental vehicle has been driven off-road and or has been driven on un-paved roads and or has been driven without due care and attention and or has been driven negligently. Where the driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Where the driver(s) is not been named on the rental agreement. When damage is caused by the rental vehicle being towed or pushed away by any unauthorized third party. When damage is caused to windows/windscreen, interior, wheels, tires, underside or roof of the car. In these circumstances, your liability to pay for any damage will not be waived and you may be liable for the $500 excess or the full cost up to and exceeding the excess.
Exclusions:
Certain uses of the vehicle and other things you or another named driver may do (or fail to do) will violate your vehicle rental agreement. It is a violation of the agreement to:
a) Allow any driver other than those named on the agreement to drive the vehicle with the exception of Disneyvilla.com associates.
b) Carry passengers or property for hire purposes.
c) Tow or push anything.
d) Be operated in a test or race contest.
e) Be driven on unpaved roads with the exception of official authorities/ emergency detour.
f) Drive the vehicle under the influence of alcohol or other controlled substance. Drive recklessly or to be overloaded.
g) Carry more passengers than the vehicle will seat legally (via the number of seat belts).
h) Drive out of the state of Florida.
i) Leave the vehicle where you fail to remove the keys, lock all doors and close all windows.
j) If you fail to promptly report an accident or other reportable incidents to the Police/Authorities and Car On The Drive.
k) Make any alterations/additions to the vehicle, or to have the vehicle repaired without permission in advance.
You are responsible for the safe keeping of the vehicle key, if lost there is a $200 charge for replacement as all modern keys are electronically chipped to suit the vehicle, You will be held responsible for all fines, penalties, unpaid road tolls and court costs for parking, traffic and other violations, including storage liens and charges. You will be responsible for any charges relating to the recovery or repossession of the vehicle. The vehicle may be repossessed by Car On The Drive at any time it is found illegally parked, being used to violate the law or terms of this agreement, or appears to be abandoned. Car On The Drive may also repossess the vehicle at any time if it has been discovered that a misrepresentation was made to obtain the vehicle. Car On The Drive takes no responsibility for any personal items that may be lost, damaged or stolen from the vehicle. (Some Gold or Platinum level credit cards offer this protection when using their card to hire the vehicle). If after your rental departure the vehicle is left with less fuel than indicated by the start fuel level in the agreement, you will incur a fuel replacement charge at the applicable fuel rate at the time of rental. It is required that Credit Card information is held for a minimum of 90 days after the termination of the rental agreement to guarantee any excess payments that may have occurred during the time period of your vehicle rental.
